About Bachat Diary
Bachat Diary is a free daily expense diary (hisab kitab) for Indian families, homes, shops and small offices. You write what you spent in a few taps, your family sees the same diary on their own phones, and at the end of the month you get a report you can send on WhatsApp or give to your CA.
Who it is for
- Families who track milk, vegetables, groceries, gas, maid salary and school fees every day.
- Small shops and offices that track chai-nashta, courier, conveyance and petty cash.
- Groups with a shared goal: a trip, a wedding or a project, kept in a separate book.
What it does
- Daily expenses and income, with your own categories, cash or UPI, and optional bill photos.
- Family sync: everyone joins with a Family Code and sees the same diary.
- Private books: share a trip or an office book only with the people you choose, using a Book Code.
- Monthly budgets, recurring expenses, bill reminders, an udhaar ledger and monthly PDF and Excel reports.
- Available in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi, with dark mode and a large text option.
What it never does
Bachat Diary never asks for your bank login, net banking password or UPI PIN, never reads your SMS, and shows no advertisements. It is not a bank, a payment app or a loan app.
How your data is handled
- Data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections and is never sold.
- Each phone holds its own secret key. Without it, a phone number alone cannot open a family's backup.
- A book you do not share with someone is not sent to their phone at all.
- You can delete your account and all your data from inside the app (More, then Family & Profile).
